Job Summary

RIC is seeking an experienced CAD technician to produce quality survey drawings, legal descriptions, easement exhibits, and process data collected by our in-house survey team. The ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines is required. The candidate will support our registered land surveyors and civil engineers on a variety of infrastructure projects. We are seeking an individual who shares our passion for a high quality work product and enjoys a fast-paced work environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Utilize AutoCAD and/or MicroStation to prepare boundary, ALTA, topographic and other surveys
  • Communicate with internal and external parties
  • Prepare as-built surveys
  • Prepare easement descriptions and exhibits
  • Work with land surveying crew to accurately draft survey data and project managers to meet required deadlines

Requirements

  • AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience in survey drafting
  • Work effectively and professionally with internal team members and external client personnel
  • Organized and punctual
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple teams
  • Ability to prioritize project deadlines
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Experience in engineering environment or engineering and/or technical coursework
  • Accurately represent survey data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Land survey experience preferred
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position approximately 90% of the day

Education Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 year of experience
  • Training or coursework in a technical drafting or related field preferred
